Why it matters

Spain votes on 29 Nov 2026, and the new Cortes sit on 23 Dec. All 26 October polls with seat figures listed on Wikipedia's polling page (read 26 Oct) project 176 or more seats, the absolute majority, for the PP and Vox together; 40dB for El Pais (7-8 Oct, 800 online interviews, +/-3.5 points) projects 198. Polls are not results; Strature makes no call on the election. The risk is not that no majority exists, but that the PP and Vox take longer than five weeks after the Cortes sit to agree: in 2025-26 the same two parties needed 80 to 122 days to invest regional presidents in Aragon and Extremadura.

If the PP and Vox together won 176 seats or more, the absolute majority [2][3], Spain would have a government with a majority in Congress and room to pass a budget (Strature's view). Polls are not results, and Strature makes no call on the election. Firms that bid on housing and infrastructure would get a settled rulebook sooner.
