Poland bars Chinese-made cars beyond its military sites

The test Before 25 Oct 2027, a binding act of the Polish state (a law, regulation, ministerial order or a high-risk vendor decision) bars Chinese-made vehicles, or their connected systems, from the sites or fleets of public bodies other than the armed forces, or of critical-infrastructure operators.

Impact is the average of the four parts, rounded, plus one point when Canada is directly hit on two or more channels, up to 10.

Two separate scales from 1 to 10. Strature never multiplies or merges them.

What changed

Dated, newest first

  1. Chinese makers 15.6% of new registrations in Sep 2026, after a record 15.9% in Aug; institutional buyers 67.3% of passenger car registrations (IBRM Samar, as reported) [9]

Why it matters

Since February 2026 Poland's armed forces bar Chinese-made vehicles from protected military sites over data-security fears. Orlen, Poland's largest oil group, applies a similar rule at its refineries, and a new cybersecurity law lets the digital affairs minister name high-risk vendors. The risk is that the state itself extends the bar to civilian public bodies or critical infrastructure.

Why Likelihood 3 Pushes: General Staff ban of Feb 2026, Orlen's group-wide company rule, high-risk vendor power in force since 3 Apr 2026. Brakes: Constitutional Tribunal referral, a made-in-China rule also hits Western brands, no public draft.

Why Impact 4 Key measure Chinese makers' share of new registrations, 15.6% in Sep 2026 (record 15.9% in Aug). Threshold case civilian public sites or fleets.

Three scenarios and their signposts

  1. S1

    Military only

The bar stays with the armed forces and companies.

  2. S2

    Uniformed services first

The interior ministry applies the rule to police or Border Guard sites.

  3. S3

    Vendor route

The minister uses the cybersecurity act against a Chinese connected-car supplier.

The signposts of each scenario
PathSignpost
S1No draft order for other services on gov.pl by mid-2027
S2A ministerial order or service instruction naming Chinese-made vehicles before 25 Oct 2027
S3A Constitutional Tribunal ruling upholding the high-risk vendor rules, or a first high-risk vendor decision, before 25 Oct 2027

No probability is given for the three paths.

A clear state rule would also replace a patchwork of site-by-site checks, which today vary by commander and company.
